As you may know, book bloggers in Canada are suffering agonizing pain (caused by empty mailboxes) due to the ongoing postal strike. I, however, must have been lucky because I got one book in the mail (UPSed).
Book three of the Abarat series: Absolute Midnight by Clive Barker.
Look for a week long feature on the series and a review nearer to the release date. I have been waiting seven years for this book so you can’t understand how excited I am for it. Thank you HarperCollins!
Checked Out
I went to the library downtown and even though I was determined not to get many books, I did so anyway. Because I am helpless like that.
Blood Magic – Tessa Gratton
Dani Noir – Nova Ren Suma (of the Imaginary Girls fame)
Madapple – Christina Meldrum
The Dust of 100 Dogs – A. S. King
Clair de Lune – Christine Johnson
Afterlight – Elle Jasper
Girl Stolen – Alice Henry
Murder Angels – Caitlin R. Kiernan

You must have a fabulous library. I notice you often feature a great assortment of library books. I’m curious about Dani Noir and the A.S. King book.
Hope the Clive Barker book lives up to your expectations. Looking forward to hearing more about that series.
Fingers crossed the postal strike gets resolved soon.
Apparently a bill passed yesterday and it will hopefully wrap up in a few days. And I am a member of four different libraries. :D What I don’t get at one, I look up at another. Hehe.
Great books! and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. I know how tempting the library can be. I’m a member of my local library and the one in the city, so I’ve got two stacks both about the size of yours there. I never seem to have time to read the ones I buy at this rate.
I read Claire de Lune, and it seems to be the typical werewolf love story. But I did enjoy it a bit. It was cute. Fluffy. :P
But omg, Dust of 100 Dogs. I thought it was fantastic, albeit a bit graphic at times. It seems to be one of those books that you either love or hate. I’d love to see what you think of it.
P.S. Do you read all the books you borrow? You always have so many, that it doesn’t seem possible for you to read them all :P
I do! Well, I start them all anyway. If I like them, I read them. If not…I return them. But it’s so much better to get a book from the library and then hate it than buy a book and hate it. (I have 15 books out right now.)
wow you got amazing books at your library!! I want to read most of those, I wish my library was as good. Hope you enjoy everything =]
The Cait Files
Great set! I really enjoyed Girl Stolen. I want to read Blood Magic.
My IMM
Blood Magic! *jealous* And you actually got a book through mail?? *enviously jealous* (Whoops, that was redundant ;))
Also — DUDE we’re both doing the Canada Day Blog Hop! *holds up hand for high-five* :D
:D *high fives*
And dude, I already know which book I’ll be offering up. Canadian authors ftw!
Blood Magic! Must know what you think.
The postal strike sucks, though. But you do seem to get by fairly well with the library. I can only imagine how crazy you’d be if they had a strike, too.
