So, let me do something a bit different today. Rather than looking at (and talking about) each cover individually, I shall present them to all of you and then talk about them as a whole because really, the differences between each other is minute enough that I can do that. Ready? Tie your hair up first. Hur.
See what I meant? I know all these covers are (mostly) different but the effect of the hair is about the same. Emotional, depressed, unspeakable. I think I like the first two the best. They give off the “out of control” vibe that speaks to me on a visceral level. I like the cover of Between the least because the way the hair is arranged seems contrived and not as though the heroine has reached a point where she is emotionally defeated to an extent that it manifests itself on a physical level.
Though, honestly? I am not a fan of these hairy covers. One might have been interesting but this many? Yeah, am over it.

Well, what about Don’t Breathe A Word‘s? You did say you liked that one… ;P I think this one is done remarkably well, and I don’t think it’s really going for an emo vibe…
Oh those totally slipped my mind! The second one I’ve seen as Jenny Pox and I still don’t know how I feel about it but you are right, it does not have an emo vibe. How interesting.
Eesh. I don’t like these much. I like my hair clean and angst-free, thanks. Although the Tatty one and This is Not a Test look pretty interesting. What is it with dead/depressed females on covers these days? :/
