Miss Chopsticks – XinRan
This is about three sisters who are suddenly thrust in a big city. The novel talks about their trials, tribulations etc. I really love the title of the novel so I am totally sold.
Alif the Unseen – G. Willow Wilson
Apart from the fact that Ms. Wilson writes beautifully, (I read an excerpt of hers from The Butterfly Mosque) the story seems just so enchanting. An Arab-Indian hacker, a prince, a lover, some magical realism I belief. It’s available on Net Galley too.
The Bastard of Istanbul – Elif Shafak
This promises to be one of those epic novels that you will linger over for months, reading in small sips and just soaking in the atmosphere. This time we are Turkey and the United States and it’s a story of sisters and hidden identities. It just sounds delicious. Thanks Glaiza for directing my attention to this.
Wolf Song – Amanda Prantera
So this is relatively short, only 198 pages and I found mention of this on a blogging friend’s site. It’s about werewolves (there was no synopsis so I’m assuming) but what has me intrigued is the beautiful cover. So gorgeous.
The Earth Hums in B Flat – Mari Strachan
This has won a bunch of awards and well, you just need to read the synopsis to be immediately allured. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.
The Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy – Nikki Loftin
A middle grade novel that seems to be made of win. There have been many of them recently.
What’s on your radar?
