Brought to you by Library book sales, delicious cakes and watching the sun rise in a skytrain.
I had a presentation due in my New Media class and I talked about teen book bloggers. Also, the head of the MACL program knows everyone! She’s awesome. She went to school with Gregory Maguire of the Wicked fame. How cool is that? Very cool, I say. And I’m sure you agree. I had my story workshopped and people seemed to really like it which made me very happy and rather relieved. In Contemporary Children’s Lit, we discussed folklore and fairy tales. I want to read more fractured tales is all I can say.
Oh and the book sale at the central public library downtown. I brought back about 35 books and nearly killed myself in the process. I am happy that I got them though. You shall see my haul in the New On My Shelves for this month. And wow, I have nothing else to say. I’m sure I could think up something but the day is almost over and I have a load of stuff to do! ^___^
School still is a lot more fun than it ever was and I’m grateful for that. I love my program!

Wow. Gregory Maguire! I’ve read almost all of his books. I have to say besides the Wicked Years series, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister was my favorite. I didn’t like the movie based on it though. I felt it lacked the feel of the book.
35 books that is a pretty good haul. Can’t wait to see what in all your snagged!
There was a movie? Really? I had no idea!
Yes, I think it was one of those straight to TV movies. It starred Stockard Channing (Rizzo from Grease) as the “evil stepmother” and had some pretty good costumes. It just didn’t really spark the way the book did for me.
