As you may (not) know, July 1st is Canada Day. And I am Canadian. And participating in the Canada Day Book Blogger Hop. All the names in the list (that will be at the end of the post) have giveaways and you should definitely check them out.
I live in British Columbia. In New Westminster. (Hello, stalkers.) I know that British Columbia, particularly Vancouver and British Columbians have been under fire of the wonderful across the border and the rest of the world for the senseless rioting after the Canucks lost to Boston in the Stanley Cup finals.
I’d like to take this opportunity and tell you that though the majority of British Columbians are hockey mad, are staunch fans of the Canucks, we are not stupid. Or ridiculous. Or any adjective that can be used to describe the riot. That wasn’t a good mood. A few people took advantage of the high energy of the crowd and fanned the flames into a stupid fire.
British Columbia is a beautiful place. Like seriously beautiful. I shall share some pictures of it (courtesy tumblr).
Now on to the giveaway. Of course, it’s a Canadian author and one of my favourite books. I’m giving away a copy of Life of Pi by Yann Martel. The movie’s going to be coming out soon and if you haven’t read it, this is your chance.
1. Leave a comment telling me one interesting you know about Canada. It can be an anecdote or you know, the fact that Jim Carey’s Canada. Or was. Or whatever.
2. Tweet this giveaway and leave me a link.
3. Contest ends on July 2nd. I will announce the winner on the blog. If the person doesn’t contact me in 24 hours, a new winner will be chosen.
That’s all you need to do.
Oh, yes, the giveaway open internationally or to wherever Book Depository ships.
So… um… yeah. Good luck. Winners will be chosen through random.org.
p.s: Curious about what other blogs are giving away? Click the link in the sidebar. It will take you to the linky.
