Giveaway: Win 2 Copies of Vertigo by Kristina Dunker

Hello My Lovelies,

I’m hosting a giveaway (as it says in the title) of Vertigo by Kristina Dunker. Two winners will each win a copy of the novel and read on ahead for more information.

Vertigo – Kristina Dunker
Amazon Crossing, 240 pages
Published May 15th, 2012

Synopsis:
Eva is sixteen and experiencing all of the excitement of being in love for the first time. And this weekend promises to be special, as she and her boyfriend, Julian, will be spending time at his parents’ country house. Nothing could be more perfect. Except the journey to the country is anything but, and Eva’s dream weekend is turning into a total nightmare.

When Eva’s train is delayed, she is unable to pick up Julian. She soon finds herself alone on a forest road late at night—and the witness to a group of teenagers beating a young boy. As she somehow sneaks by unnoticed, she also loses her diary, an incredibly personal book that holds all of her secrets—including details of her visits to a psychotherapist. So when she meets a kindred spirit who shares her demons and seems to know so much, she has to wonder whether he has read her thoughts.

Exploring the hopes, fears, and dangers of adolescence, Vertigo spins a riveting tale of extraordinary emotional range and intensity.

Giveaway (Fever – Lauren DeStefano)!

So Simon&Schuster sent me two copies of the book, I thought, since I’m nice and all, I’ll do a giveaway. Share in the goodness and all that, right? The book that I’m giving away is one of the most anticipated of 2012 and I’m sure plenty people will squeal when I finally reveal its title. But first, here’s a bad picture I took with my phone:

Are you squealing yet? So, here are the rules/conditions of entry etc.

1. Entry open to Canada/US only. Sorry people, I can only afford postage to these two places.
2. To enter:
i) Subscribe to this blog. (Yes, I know, I’m evil but since I’m the only spending postage money, you can do that much.)
ii)  Leave me a link showing where you publicized the giveaway. Just one link. Oh and your email address.
iii) You must be a book blogger. Since this is an ARC and for review purposes, I’d feel better if you were a blogger.
3. Giveaway runs until the 7th of December. Winner will be chosen by Random.org. Winner will be contacted by email and will be expected to respond within 24 hours. If there is no response forthcoming, new winner will be chosen.

And that is all, my lovelies.

May you be lucky.

Book Shelf Purging

Hello. Hi. My Name is Nafiza and I’ve spent the last ten hours writing a paper. It’s worth 40% of my grade so you know I’m understandably troubled by it. But still, ten hours is a long time and whatever little gray matter I had was eaten away by the sadistic people who invented papers.

Anyway, I purged my bookshelf and now I have, like, books? But I don’t have the money to send it to anyone so people, I thought I’d ask the blog word, the internet, if you want the books, it’s yours… just pay for the shipping. I wish I had the money to pay for shipping but I’m a poor starving student. If nobody wants the books, I’ll give it to…well I don’t know to whom but to someone. Anyway, just leave me a comment if you’re interested and we’ll discuss the details. If you’re in Vancouver, so much the better since you’re local and I can just give the books to you. (Providing you’re not creepy. Hur.)

Anyway, the books:

In Camelot’s Shadow – Sarah Zettel (paperback)
The Beekeeper’s Pupil – Sara George (Hardcover)
The Garden – Elsie V. Aidinoff (Hardcover)
Inside Out – Maria V. Snyder (paperback)
Timeless – Alexandra Monir (hardcover)
Wildefire – Karsten Knight (ARC)
Immortal – Gillian Shields (paperback)
Fury – Elizabeth Miles (ARC)
A Touch Mortal – Leah Clifford (ARC)
The Iron Witch – Karen Mahoney (paperback)

Let me know if you’re interested cuz I would like it if these books went to people who loved them and hugged them to sleep or okay, not that but you know what I mean.

Kays. I’m going to go not type.  (Oh, I am in Canada just so you know.)

Win a Jodi Picoult Library

Hey guys, Simon and Schuster recently alerted me to this giveaway and if Jodi Picoult is on your to-read list (she wrote the much loved My Sister’s Keeper), here is a chance to win all her books. Sound good? I think so.

Click on the banner for more information and details on how to enter the giveaway. Good luck.

Giveaway: My Life Undecided – Jessica Brody

320 pages
Published June 7th 2011 by Farrar, Straus and Giroux

Synopsis:

LEASE READ THIS! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!

Okay, maybe that was a bit melodramatic, but I’m sorry, I’m feeling a bit melodramatic at the moment.

Here’s the deal. My name is Brooklyn Pierce, I’m fifteen years old, and I am decisionally challenged. Seriously, I can’t remember the last good decision I made. I can remember plenty of crappy ones though. Including that party I threw when my parents were out of town that accidentally burned down a model home. Yeah, not my finest moment, for sure.

But see, that’s why I started a blog. To enlist readers to make my decisions for me. That’s right. I gave up. Threw in the towel. I let someone else decide which book I read for English. And whether or not I accepted an invitation to join the debate team from that cute-in-a-dorky-sort-of-way guy who gave me the Heimlich maneuver in the cafeteria. (Note to self: chew the melon before swallowing it.) I even let them decide who I dated!

Well, it turns out there are some things in life you simply can’t choose or have chosen for you—like who you fall in love with. And now everything’s more screwed up than ever.

But don’t take my word for it. Read the book and decide for yourself.  You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll scream in frustration. Or maybe that’s just me. After all, it’s my life.

To win:

1. Leave a comment with your email address and a link of where you’ve publicized this. (If you are tweeting, add @Nafizaa).

And that’s all!

Giveaway open to US/CA addresses only. Sorry.
You will have 24 hours to reply with your mailing address if you win.
Oh, and contest closes on the 15th.

Good luck!

Vanish – Sophie Jordan (Teen Book Scene Blog Tour): Tens List: Az

Expected release: erm, tomorrow. *beam*

Synopsis:

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

Tens List: Az

1)      Favorite Movie?

Point Break – I just love the ocean scenes.

2)      Favorite Show?

Well, I love watching the summer Olympics – water sports, of course. Wish it came on more than every four years.

3)      Favorite thing to do?

Swim, naturally.  Flying is a close second. I would say travel, but I don’t get much opportunity to leave the pride.

4)      Favorite person?

Jacinda, of course. I mean how many friends risk their life for you?

5)      Hottest boy?

Cassian, of course. Not that I hold out hope for him. He’s only ever considered Jacinda. And I can’t even hate her for that because she’s my best friend.

6)      Favorite Music?

Pop – anything I can dance to … mostly alone in my room or with Jacinda if she’s sleeping over.

7)      Biggest pet peeve?

Not being able to fly during daylight hours. Having to give a report of all your comings and goings if you step even one toe outside the pride … annoying, to say the least.

8)      Favorite book?

On The Road by Jack Kerouac

9)      Favorite food?

It’s very un-draki of me, but … Cheetos! I tried them once on a trip to town and can’t get enough.

10)   Favorite season?

Winter … the colder the better. Plus, hunters come around less in the winter. It’s a more peaceful time in the pride.

You also have a chance to win Vanish swag pack. You just need to live in America and leave me a comment to be entered into the draw.  Contest runs for five days. So I’ll be emailing the winner on Friday.

When the highway opens up and swallows them, Beth learns too late that she’s now a prisoner in hell. What happens to angels there? As her archangel brother, Gabriel, her sister Ivy, Xavier, and her best friend, Molly search for her, Beth must weigh Jake’s bargaining for her freedom: one night with him, and she will be released back to Earth.
Can Jake be trusted in this wager? And is he also using Beth to engineer the fall of the archangel Gabriel? Xavier has already lost one love – when Jake tricks him into thinking that Bethany is dead, his grief and anger result in a betrayal that will leave Bethany – and readers – wondering if he is so good after all.

Convicted of a murder he didn’t commit, sentenced to life without parole, “new fish” Alex Sawyer knows he has two choices: find a way out, or resign himself to a death behind bars, in the darkness at the bottom of the world. Except in Furnace, death is the least of his worries. Soon Alex discovers that the prison is a place of pure evil, where inhuman creatures in gas masks stalk the corridors at night, where giants in black suits drag screaming inmates into the shadows, where deformed beasts can be heard howling from the blood-drenched tunnels below. And behind everything is the mysterious, all-powerful warden, a man as cruel and dangerous as the devil himself, whose unthinkable acts have consequences that stretch far beyond the walls of the prison. Together with a bunch of inmates—some innocent kids who have been framed, others cold-blooded killers—Alex plans an escape.
