Waiting on Wednesdays

Waiting on Wednesdays is a meme started by Jill from Breaking the Spine. It showcases books that may or may not be releasing but books that you are anticipating.

I am waiting for Cold Fire by Kate Elliot.

Releasing September 26th by Orbit.

Synopsis:

Cat and her cousin are key players in a drama of dragons and politics. Everyone wants something from them – including the warlord who’s conquering all Europa and the Cold Mages who dare defy him. But the Master of the Wild Hunt is most dangerous of all. He will command Cat’s loyalty using what she holds most dear.

In a world where science and magic are at war, one girl must save those she loves, or lose everything.

It is book two in the Spiritwalker series. If you haven’t Cold Magic, you need to go and read it. Right now. Seriously. It combines steampunk, fantasy and romance so beautifully, that you will be crying for the sequel with as much fervour (and in as much desperation) as me.

Waiting on Wednesdays #2

Brought to you by Jill from Breaking the Spine.

To be published on April 19th by Penguin
656 pages (woot.)

Synopsis:

In this standalone sequel to Eon: Dragoneye Reborn, Australian author Alison Goodman (Singing the Dogstar Blues) tracks the perilous adventures of Eona, the first female Dragoneye in many centuries. Unfortunately, our heroine finds no time to rest on her laurels: She and her fellow rebels are racing frantically to find a potent black folio while they also attempt to elude High Lord Sethon’s pursuing army. Eona: The Last Dragoneye brims with romance, suspense, and surprises. Definitely worth recommending.
3 Reasons I Can’t Wait For This Novel:

2. The cover is so gorgeous. I could stare at it all day.

3. Dragons. I love Dragons.

Night Spell – Leah Cypess (Mistwood #2)
To be published: May 31st 2011 by HarperCollins Canada

Synopsis:

A stand-alone companion novel to the much-acclaimed MISTWOOD. When Darri rides into Ghostland, a country where the living walk with the dead, she has only one goal: to rescue her younger sister Callie, who was sent to Ghostland as a hostage four years ago. But Callie has changed in those four years, and now has secrets of her own. In her quest to save her sister from herself, Darri will be forced to outmaneuver a handsome ghost prince, an ancient sorcerer, and a manipulative tribal warrior (who happens to be her brother). When Darri discovers the source of the spell that has kept the dead in Ghostland chained to this earth, she faces a decision that will force her to reexamine beliefs she has never before questioned – and lead her into the heart of a conspiracy that threatens the very balance of power between the living and the dead.

Why I want to read this?

The first book in the series was fantastic so I’m assured that whatever Ms. Cypess has in store for us is going to be great. And come on, doesn’t the synopsis win you over?
